Tim Metcalfe took an awesome billy in BC with his bow. He was hunting with Golden Bear Outfitting.

You can see the goat and find out more details at

www.huntingreport.com

Personally, I would have come back later when he was haired up a little better, but to each his own.

Good stuff! A goat hunt is hard enough and with a bow is difficult to say the least.

I guided in this area back in the mid 90's, there are alot of goats, and areas that have never been hunted in decades. Good to see the new owner is running it the way it should be.
Sure makes me want to go back, gonna go buy a lottery ticket now.
Thanks for posting that.

You're welcome, Jetboater. After I posted it, I found out there was a second P&Y goat taken on the same hunt.

And they've only started exploring the concession. It must be a good area, and apparently the outfitter is doing a great job. It's one to keep an eye on.

It turns out that second goat was taken with a rifle. It still made B&C.

And the first one we mentioned taken by Tim Metcalfe has been confirmed the new world record by Pope & Young.

Tim's goat has been moved from the Hunting Report home page to the Trophy Gallery.

Here's the link to go directly to his billy:

He looks a little beat up from a tumble down the rocks, but what a set of horns!

Of interest on the topic of goats, I measured a goat that was taken by AC Smid in late november with Coast Mountain Outfitters that green scored 54 5/8 gross.

O.M. for Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young, BC Trophy Wildlife records and LongHunter.
