I am driving to New Brunswick from Michigan in September for moose and bear. I figure I can make it as far as Montreal or even Drummondville on the first day. I am looking for a motel/hotel recommendation. Preferably around Drummondville....

Can anyone help?

Sure! I'd love to help you out. I currently work in Montreal and I hunted Snow Geese just outside of Drummondville-it was my daily trek from Montreal this spring.

Drummondville is only about 1.5 hours south-east from Montreal. If I were you, I'd contact their tourist office and get a list of hotel\motels (likely only a few) in the city (which is pretty small-my population guess around 20,000 or so- enough for a Walmart, McDonalds etc.):

MRC de Drummondville- 1-819-477-5529

Better yet, stop 1.5 hours early or so (from 20 HWY or 40) and spend some time in one of the best cities in the world. Montreal has great restaurants, an old port district with european flair, nightlife, lots of history and great museums and other attractions (hey, depending on when you come in Sept.-I may even be able to join up with you for lunch or dinner -haha For hotels\motels- I'd need a budget and what you are looking for- there is everything from Best Western (around $40-75USD\night) to Ritz and Vogue (both providing exceptional service at an exceptional $$$price$$$)

My tentative plans (REVISED) will take me out of Montreal sometime between the 1st and 10th or 22nd and Oct. 1st for a first meeting re: consulting contract of mine. PM me with e-mail, your dates etc. and we'll see what might work out!

Best of luck and, as they say here in french, Bienvenue au Quebec!

Any time spent in Montreal is time well spent. As someone from western Canada this is hard to admit - but Old Montreal is one of the nicest cities I have ever been to.

Thanks for the help, Guys. I think on the way home I may spend a few extra hours taking in Montreal. I am sure I will find plenty of ice for my game meat. I actually hope to find some dry ice.

Looks like there are two motels in Drummondville.
