I deer hunt in western Ontario and would also like to hop over and hunt Manitoba. Lake of the Woods would be ideal. Does anybody out there do deer hunts in that area?

69 Not sure exactly where you are considering on a hunt but I will share a bit of info. The eastern part of Mb is pretty much bush and swamp. There is not much agricultural land in that area. As such the density of the deer population is not as high as it is where there is more agriculture. Along with that there are not a lot of secondary roads in many areas so access can be limited. However it may offer another season to you. I would suggest get a copy of the "backroad maps" and plan on spending a couple weekends before season to do a little scouting and asking permission. Note because of the large areas of bush and swamp it is very easy to get turned around in this area.Almost every year a hunter or group of hunters get lost and spend a night in the bush in this area. So be prepared.
