I flew home to California this morning but I was working up in Airdrie, Alberta last week and got invited to the opening day ceremonies of the Calgary Stampede Rodeo. IT was a hell of a show!

Some of us make a point of avoiding Calgary, while this is going on. Overpriced, from admission on. Attendance stats are reflecting that, in this economy.

I guess if you have never been to it, it is impressive. I also avoid it like the plague. Liked it a lot better 30 years ago.

Too many people and lots of idiots........

I had a great time. We were on the patio of the restaurant there and the company I was working with picked up the tab. One thing that I really appreciated was how friendly everyone was there in Alberta (Airdrie and Calgary) while I was working up there.

The only negtive was the cost of Cuban cigars.

Yes, I was out on the patio in the sunshine with a tall glass, a lovely young redhead waitress and a bunch of friends.

I'll be in Ranahans on Thursday afternoon. You were lucky, that's the best way to watch the stampede. Most locals don't even know it's there and the hand picked waitresses are....special! You must have made a good contact here to even be able to get a ticket. They are rare as hens teeth.

glad you had fun

Spending $2M+ that week with the company that hosted me probably helped. Smiler
