Canuck, thanks for the tip, but thats something we have always done in the past. And you are right, it does wonders for hunter/landowner relations. We also send Christmas cards, offer help with jobs like repairing fence, building cattle shelters, etc. And we always shoot gophers off their pastures during the summer.
We believe in keeping a give/take relationship with our farmer/landowner friends instead of just showing up to hunt.

I farm about 12,000 ac. in S. SK. We have great deer, both mule and whitetail. We get every kind of 'hunter' For the most part we have allowed pretty much open access. Until last year. Two year ago we got a bullet thru our grain dryer and two holes in bins. Then a carload of 'hunters' hit a drainage ditch and showed extremely poor attitudes when I wouldn't get right on to pulling them out. Car was prob. a write off. One of the bright boys even mentioned suing due to unmarked hazard. I asked our lawyer about this and he thought they may have a case if I had recently dug or deepened the ditch. Nothing came of it though. These are the kinds of things we deal with for 2 months out of 12. I am a hunter as our my kids and grandkids, imagine how non hunters must feel about the access deal.Over, Mark

SK. draws are out. Grandkids and I got antlered mule deer in the zone we live, limited moose, and either sex elk. As well the boys got each 2 antlerless mule deer tags.(youth deal, they are 12) Should be lots of freezer meat and jerky by the end of Oct. The # of app's was down from other years, most of my friends were drawn as well. Good luck to all, Mark
