I live up in the canadian north, and I go Musk Ox hunting every year with my DAD, WE have hunted them using bow and arrows, 50 BMG,470 NITRO EXPRESS,375H&H,7.62X39,2506,MUZZLE LOADER. One thing we have not tried yet is a spear. I have been thinking about it. Has anyone ever hunted Elk,Bison, or anything big in North America?

I have hunted all kinds of big things but I suspect that you were meaning with a spear ??? Some guys in camp (in Northern Cameroon) this past February took off after a hartebeest that was dragging a snare ... and brought it back to camp in big pieces a bit later. I doubt if they would have tried that with a wounded buffalo ... I would love to do a musk ox hunt some year. Are there any guides in your area that might take out an aging hippy type from Southern Alberta for a fair price ???
