Flew in here on Monday to head out for a Mountain Caribou hunt. Landed to rain, snow and wind. All flights out to any of the outfitters were grounded. Weather was the same yesterday and only heard a few planes leaving late in the afternoon. Weather right now is cloudy/fog but is supposed to lift around noon. We are scheduled to fly out of here at 3 today and are crossing our fingers !!! Some outfitters are reporting up to 2 feet of snow in their areas. Only good thing about all that snow is that it has pushed a lot of the caribou down.

Certainly a lot of worse things could happen than being so close to the very best caribou/moose/sheep country in the world! Enjoy and who are you hunting with?

What I'd give to be sitting with my gear waiting to fly into that country. Instead I'm sitting in front of my computer waiting out the down-time until I'm officially a "resident". I managed an early season caribou hunt with my son-in-law while we tagged alone with my daughter as she hunted Dall sheep. We had great weather and superior success. Good luck with the weather/flights and the hunt, of course! Zeke
