I have a friend who wants to do a spring bear hunt this year up in Canada. Would love to be able to give him so well recommended outfitters for his trip.

I'll be in Reno for SCI next week so if I have some names I can arrange to meet the outfitters as well (should they be there).

Here are his high level requirements for the trip:
-Target dates: 5/15 to 5/21 2011
- Nice lodging with a private bedroom for he and his wife
-proven success rate for shot opportunity – as close to 100% as possible

Nice to have:
- Fishing opportunity
- two bear option
- airport pick-up
- prefer archery

He is not set on a specific part of Canada and he is just as happy sitting in a blind as he is doing spot and stalk hunts.

+1 to the Lancasters. Hunted with them a few times and it is always a great trip.

Also check with Gene Plihal. Shoots some big big bears every year. Baits baits and more baits and very few hunters.

I have hunted black bear with Clay Harrison at Long Lake Adventures near Plaster Rock, N.B. twice. My total hunting time was less than three hours, with two very nice bears as the result.
The lodgings are very nice, with individual cabins for a couple. I did not take my wife, but I would. The food is also very good.
The facility is on the shore of a lake with very good lake trout fishing, and some brookies.
