Good news......Just talked to our outfitter here at the SCI show in Vegas and it was confirmed yesterday by the Gov't. Of Quebec that they will be going back to the 2 caribou limit for 2014-15.

I hunted Quebec in 2012 and saw plenty of caribou ,glad to see that the 2 animal limit isn't changed.

Just be very careful what outfit you book with.

This is all sad to me to see the caribou go; last time I was in Que, hunting out of Schefferville, you had to be careful or the caribou would run you over. Now I understand that the heard is a fraction of what it was 10 years ago.

make your homeworks and dont trust a salesman on any huntshows.

while i was guiding i ve seen people that has been told and said and promised but when the salesman is away just a signed contract is the proof. and beginning of problems.

staff on site cant do anything if caribou are not there ... a migration animal cant tied around small trees toundra ...

the actual cost on caribou in Quebec is floatplane time and i ve seen and i charged ( as a chief guide camp manager or whatever the name you want) bills over 5000 usd added to the hunt ...

what is right one day in the field maybe a dead day with no caribou the next ...

those animals can cover a huge distance and not stopping at all.
