I ordered a gun from Dante's in Montreal last month. I gave all the info over the phone to Dante's on Tuesday, but didn't hear anything from the firearms centre for the transfer by Friday, so I called the CFC to see what was up. They told me new protocol is if the dealer is satisfied the buyer is legit, they take their word for it. The gun was delivered later that morning (Fed-Ex). Took it out shooting on Saturday. Efficiency from the CFC and great service from Dante's. What more could a guy ask for?? It's amazing how efficient government can get when they don't have all kinds of money to piss away.

I totally agree with Bill but am trying to buy as much in Canada as I can but due to cost I have to purchase across the border from time to time. I also don't buy gun powder or primers from any source that has to ship it to me. These items come from local shops. Cam

If you were ignored in Russells it is prbbaly due to the fact that they are really under staffed. They usally only have 2 people on the gun counter with one other in archery, who can help only if he is not busy. Plus their is only one guy their who knows what he is talking about. At wholesale they are a bunnch of assholes thay are so big if you dont like them, they could care less.Go some place else who cares seems to be their attitude.

I was in Wholesale sports on friday, they are still using their 2003 catalog for pricing, their 2004 isn't out yet. I bought 2 50 rd bags of nickeled 45-70 brass, rem. they charged me 36.99 per bag, looked them up in the catalog while I stood there. I drove down the road to Russels to see what used guns they had and while I was there asked how much nickeled rem. 45-70 brass is. They looked in their 2004 catalog, 32.99 for 50. I went down the brass isle and found the bags and sure enough they were tagged 32.99. According to the guys at russel they have lowered all their prices in their 2004 catalog due to the strengthening Canadian dollar, and Wholesale has not.
