Should I feel Ripped Off? While the USFWS whiles away the time, PRT Trophy expiditors tanned my Polar Bear hide and got it ready to ship. This was paid for. I also paid a storage bill of $540 USD. Oh but wait, that was for only one year. I just got billed an additional $540 USD for 2010.

Seems a bit opportunistic to me. What say you all?

I guess you have to ask yourself a question.
1) Is the current US administration going to change the Polar bear Policy in the US to allow import. rotflmo NOPE
I imported to Canada some trophies from South Africa in 09. In the 10 days I had to wait for Canada customs to clear them I got charged 35/day. So I would say your 540 a year is pretty cheap. About the cost of a small storage space at one of the storage companies.

I guess another option for you would be if you have a friend in Canada, they could store it for you till the US situation changes.

If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness."

Weeeeeelllll.....I would also tell everyone who might listen all about my harrowing experiences on the ice and how the bear almost killed me and how it actually ate my guide thus requiring me to camp several extra days without aid etc.

Wink

Seriously, happy to help if push comes to shove.
