Anybody draw anything interesting this year? I've opted for code 999 on moose and mule deer, next year I'll have about 100% chance on a moose tag, I'm planning to spend a week in the North of the province then. May take a friend on a Hunter Host deal to share in the fun. This year is Bighorn Year. I'm planning on spending a week in the mountains around opening day. Last year was a bit of a deception, as I found that I was not nearly as fit as I thought I was. I've been in training since mid winter, taking it very easy in the beginning, as not to overstress any joint (easily done with my feable body), but more intense now. Mountain biking and short climbs during the week, and longer hikes on the weekends. Bit of weight training for the upper body. Ordered a new sleeping bag, still need a little cooking stove, and I'm done. Except for shooting training. I've made a cardboard cut-out of a bighorn to toy around with....I'm really excited! Of course we have to wait until August 18th or so to get the results of the goat draw...why on earth do they publish the result of that draw so late? It hardly gives a man enough time to go and scout and prepare the hunt. Frans

Don't worry about the goat Frans, I'll be the one who draws out anyway and I already know exactly where the old bugger is. Chuck

Well, if you just tell me where to get his daddy next year, I'll offer up my spot for you ;-) Frans

Out of the 13 different draws that I applied for, all I got was a lousy whitetail doe in 132. I guess I could still get an antelope or that elusive goat tag, but it does not look good. As you stated Frans this is the year of the Ram for me. I have been hunting them since I began hunting; I have had some very close calls but never harvested a ram. This year will be it! ...I hope
