Is there that much of a problem with elk bothering farmers, is there that many elk that they can just kill a bunch off? Or is this just a knee jerk reaction to some vocal land owners who dislike elk. It would seem to me this would be very hard on the local herd of elk, especially getting this late in the year, for every elk shot it takes 2 out of this years numbers. I am aware that as hunters and sportsman we are far down this list of Gov't concerns, but it is sure nice to go elk hunting inb the fall and actually get to see and shoot an elk. You don't see an open season on Grizzly bears when they bother farmers, or hikers. And i'm not bitching about farmers, grew up as one and understand the challenges etc, but there must be something else other than just kill off the elk herd to keep conflicts down. Unless the numbers are just that high. Just wondering. | |||
