Just thought it would be kind of nice to have a "network" out there with eyes and ears on the look out for the same types of things.

Another lefty here who is pretty irritated at lack of choice available to us ( +/- 20%of the population). It seems that any left hand offering is snapped up immediatly and most gun shops dont carry them because they dont sell???
I am looking for a stainless synthetic in .375 H&H that isnt a Browning And I dont want to spend more than $1000.00.
I guess I am just SOL.
Cheers
Allan

I'm also a southpaw. Of my 13 rifles all are bolt actions, 9 of them right handers. I used to get upset about
this topic, but most of my shooting is from the bench so the right handed port is actually a blessing. Some
of my rifles do not have cheek pieces, some like my Remingtons do but the don't rise up to get in the way.
Since most stocks today aren't canted it's much easier to shoot from the wrong (sic) side. There seem to
be more left handed actions made today, but they usually aren't in the calibers I want. Except for
Remington products the smallest caliber is usually a 7mm Mag. and it goes up to .300Win. Mag. I give them
wide latitude since I have no desire to become a spastic cripple. Best wishes.

I shoot right but my daughter is a leftie. As such I too always keeping an eye out.

I did notice a left-handed Tikka in 7mm Remington listed on the Canadian GunNutz site the other day if anyone is interested. (Hell I didn't even realize Tikka ever made a left-hand bolt. lol )

Hi Chuck. I'm right handed, but by an odd coincidence, the majority of my shooting and hunting buddies are all left handed. so I always keep an eye out for LH stuff, just as habit. - Dan

I'm left handed, but am lucky that I'm right-eye dominant and shoot righty. My brother is right-handed and shoots lefty.
I am always looking for good deals on left-handed firearms for him.

Hi Cariboo
I am on hwy 20 west of Williams Lake in Kleena Kleene. In the summer I run a lodge on Tetachuck Lake on the eastern boundry of Tweedsmuir Park at the Redfern river(maybe the best trout stream in Canada).

Cheers
Allan

Allan,

That is truly beautiful country you are living in. I spend a lot of time in the east Chilcotin during the fall hunting mulies. (It is a quick jaunt over the river from where I live north of Williams Lake) The area between the Fraser and the old military training area is full of big old bucks that end up dying of old age! LoL

If you, or anyone else for that matter, is interested we have a hunting and shooting forum set up for western Canadians at Hunting & Shooting Western Canada

Come over and you will find a few more locals hanging about.

I am a lefty, and dam proud of it! I have some lefty rifles but most are right handed. I can work a righty bolt action just as fast as a lefty. I work righty bolt actions on my sholder. Does any one else do that?

I'm right handed but with the left eye dominance I trained myself to shoot left handed back when I was about 10 or 12 .. I use left handed rifles .. heck, I just found a left handed 870 in a local gunshop. I need a camp gun in far away places when birds become annoying and venison too repetitive in the ol' frying pan .. I do 99% of my big game hunting with an ancient 8Mag wildcat that was put together in Wyoming in the '60s on a left handed Savage action .. I also keep a Sako LH .416 around in case of elephants or brontosaureses .. (Nice nice rifle !!!)

Just thought I'd pass on to you left handed batters... ...I came across a left handed Sako A5 the other day - chambered in .375 H&H, no less! It wasn't 'original', as it had a synthetic stock, and (I think) a stainless barrel. It was in the Tackle Shack, in Grande Prairie, Alberta...(780)539-6354. The guy's name was Ron.

I figured good .375s in left handers are hard to come by. Might as well be 'one of us' that gets dibs.
