Last year we booked a hunt with Pinfeathers & Hackle (Steve Chorney) in Wildwood, Alberta and paid for 4 Hunters to hunt geese and ducks September 18-22, 2005. Shortly before we left for the hunt,we received a call from Steve Chorney and he informed us of a train derailment and oil spill that in effect cancelled the hunt we had already paid for. Steve assured us he would refund the money for the hunt due to the oil spill, and also offered us a free goose hunt next year for our inconvenience.

We have repeatedly tried to contact Steve Chorney to find out the details of the refund, as well as details for the trip planned for the following year (2006). I have 3-4 phone numbers for Steve and Pinfeathers & Hackle, however, no one ever answers the phone, and if the phone is answered, it goes directly to voice mail. We have literally left HUNDREDS of messages and e-mails for Mr. Chorney to call us back, and still have not received a refund for the hunt or as much as a phone call from Steve Chorney.

We are told by the Alberta Outfitters Association that we are not the first group to file a complaint against Mr. Chorney for non-performance and non-refunding.

How in the world does an oil spill screw up a 4 day goose hunt ??? Confused Guys who rip people off like this should go straight to jail !!! I know some outfitters and booking agents require the cost of the hunt in advance .. I won't do it. bull Now I know why ... I wonder where Wildwood is? Must be up north somewhere ...

I live near there. This is the first I heard of the oil spill affecting goose hunts, never affected any of my friends hunting last fall. I think you been strung a line. Why don't you give a call to the Evansburg RCMP, they cover the Wildwood area which is a one bar one gas station village of no more than a few hundred people, can't be hard to find, his dad lives in Evansburg another village of a few hundred, the RCMP detrachment phone number there is 1-780-727-4446 maybe they could help or give you a few suggestions as to what you might do, you might convince them to go have a chat with Mr.Chorney.
