Hey guys,

We'll definitely do this again...haven't received word from Saeed on his video yet, so hadn't planned on making the list quite yet!! Appreciate everyone's enthusiasm though. Big Grin

I have upgraded my computer this year, so I now have the technology to make multiple copies myself. If we can get everyone to make two and pass them on, we could blitz this thing in a few weeks. Last year rocked...but I bet we can do even better.

Since we can get so many copies in circulation, and I will separate the lists by geographical area, I think we can probably save everyone a bunch of $$ and just go with regular parcel post. If one goes missing (which happened early on with VHS tapes and single copies), it'd be much cheaper to burn another copy and parcel post it again.

Everyone that's interested can post here for know. I'll collect addy's later.

The list is officially for Canadians only, else this list will grow out of all proportion. And we have had major customs issues going cross border in the past (not to mention the hundreds of dollars in shipping VHS cassettes to the UK and AUS!!!).

Not sure why the guys on the US list didn't think of making multiple copies on the first few send-outs, and shortening the lists practically exponentially as a result??? Burning DVD's isn't too expensive, and sending them will be pretty cheap with regular parcel post.

Cheers,
Canuck

Yo, Canuck !!!

You must include me in on this list. dancing And because neither you nor I live vicariously - you must come out and visit us in our little hunting camp some time in Namibia. We can sit around the campfire in the evening after a day of hunting ... and bad mouth our mutual amigo, 'Iceman.' Big Grin

markhor,

This is a "share List" for Canadians only (not sure if you are in Canada..you don't list a location).

Just in case you are not aware, a "share list" is basically this...someone sends you a copy of the DVD's for you to watch/copy and send on to the next guy. The critical part is the sending on to the next guy of course...ie. this is not a free DVD service. Big Grin

With improvements in technology though, copying these is getting cheaper and faster...so some guys are getting the benefit of that (there are more people at the end of the line that receive but don't send).

That reminds me....those of you that found yourself in that desirable spot last year (receiving not sending), will be near the top of the list this year! Smiler

So, Markhor...if you are in Canada, and would like to be part of the list, PM me with your contact info (mailing addy, real name and phone number).

Cheers,
Canuck

The DVD's have been copied and there are 3 sets in the mail today.

We should be able to get through the list as quick as we did last year.

I have only watched the first disk but it is a good one, as usual.

As a side note I started watching the first disk while I was waiting in my truck. The wife was shopping on whyte ave. in Edmonton and I sat in the truck in front of a Star Bucks and drank a normal coffee and watched Saeed whack a couple buffalo. The people dressed in the Hemp hats that walked by gave me a funny look. Big Grin

But I could not think of a better place to watch the video. Except maybe a MEC parking lot.

Get ready to enjoy the DVD's

Graylake

Thanks Graylake!

Graylake generously took the time to convert the original DVD-DL discs to DVD-R format to make it faster and easier for the rest of us to make copies. On top of that, he made three extra sets to get the list going quicker. At 4 DVD's per set, that was no small task. thumb Thanks again Graylake!

So, here's where we go from here:

1) Canuck has a copy of the converted DVDs from Graylake. I will try to match Graylake's generosity and will also make 3 copies. They will go to: Scruffy, Gatehouse and Smokey.

2) ilw will also recieve a copy from Graylake. He offered to make copies for the Ontario (east) members, so I am asking that he make two sets and send them to: notlim and mamunar

3).366torque will also receive a copy from Graylake. He too offered to make copies for the BC guys, so I am asking that he make 2 sets, and send them to: dopey dave, and wsquared EDIT: .366torque will make a third copy for samwise

4) Frans will also receive a copy from Graylake. He has not offered to make extra copies, but if he is willing, I would ask that he also make two sets and send them to archdlx and kayaker. Frans, if you cannot make an extra copy, just send one copy to archdlx and he can then forward them to kayaker when he is done.

That will complete the current list. If anyone else requests to be on the list, I will choose someone from the list of people that recieved copies but did not have to forward them on, and ask them to do so (per the original intent of this "share list" -- ie. it is not a "FREE DVD list, even though a lot of people are recieving the benefit of the generosity of those on the list above them).

One last thing...in previous years I asked that we use EXPRESSPOST and pass the tracking number on to me. Given that there are so many copies around, it is not so critical if a set goes missing in the mail. To reduce the financial burden of those that are making multiple copies, I have suggested that we use just regular lettermail or parcel post.

If you are on the receiving end here, make sure to take the time to thank the guys ahead of you. It is probably apparent in my posts, but I am getting increasingly frustrated with those (albeit few) that are taking advantage of the generosity of those ahead of them.

Cheers,
Canuck

Chef,
You can definitely get in on it. So that we maintain some semblance of order and structure to this list (I am sure we will get more latecomers now that it is happening, and I don't want to let it become total chaos), I am going to suggest that you be on the "Alberta List", headed up by Frans. If he is willing to make a third copy, you can get one directly from him, else you will come after archdlx and kayaker.

Or, I can see if Scruffy will pass a copy on to you when he is done.

Cheers,
Canuck

Hey guys....
just got the movies, (4 discs), this evening. Am watching the first one now. Will copy them tomorrow, if my rats haven't made off with the blank cd's/dvd's!

Who is next on the list?
Will send them out on Tuesday...Monday is a holiday. Could put it in the mail tomorrow, but out here in the sticks, the mail won't go out till Tues. night.

Later....LeRoy

Charlie-come-lately,
I will arrange for someone to pass a copy on to you...most likely archdlx since he's closest and we all now know he has the technology!

I stopped by th email today, and the DVD's were there!!

I thought I could copy on my fancy Apple, but I don't think I can..Think I bougth the one that only burns CD's.

So I'll watch them and send them off wherever Canuck wants me to, maybe I can find one of the lackeys at work that can burn DVD's. IS it time consuming?
