It's an attempt to threaten us with how bad it could be when they introduce a similar bill. Sort of a testing the waters to see how far they can go. This was a nonstarter as the senator who's introducing it is set to retire in a few days and the bill dies in discussion with his retirement. Luckily I sold all my guns to Tony in Canmore a few years ago  If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness." - Alberta Provincial Court Judge Demetrick    | |||

It's actually a "her" and this is her second kick at the can with introducing this bill. It made second reading this time but in the Conservative dominated Senate it's likely to go nowhere but it does demonstrate how poorly those in the highest chambers understand hunters and firearms. Yes, she is retiring but I'm certain there will be someone else to fill her big floppy clown shoes!. | |||
