Do any of you guys use Raven Wear clothing? I'm thinking of buying the Anti-Freeze system. It looks like some quality stuff. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

For the right money I'd sale my rifle, my truck, my 4 wheeler, my ... But you can't buy my Raven Wear. I've got the 3/4 Length Mid-Weight Jacket and vest, it truly is the last hunting jacket I plan to buy!!

well i hate to sound like the hard to please customer, but.

i have the anti freeze system for several years and have used it on stand in saskatch' in late nov. a couple of times. make sure to get the optional extended zipper for the bibs so that you can wiz w/o having to take off the bibs and freeze your ----- off. i had to explain to the owner that unless you have a long pants snake, the over the top and then down is not happening. i found the pants to be comfortable and pretty warm.

the coat was not as good. bearing in mind that i also went for the optional windproof barrier in both the pants and the coat, which to me not to have it makes no sense at all. the effectiveness of the barrier was disappointing. the coat was very bulky as well and the optional hood was not cut in a way to maximize warmth, comfort and visibility.

i have no doubt that northern outfitters would be warmer but, it would also be even more bulky and noisier. the raven wear is very quiet.

Been using Raven Wear for something like ten years and it hasen't let me down once. I've "tested" it on many cold weather hunts including arctic hunts at -40.

Regardless of what you choose, layering is the only effective means to deal with cold. Only one layer, or in extreme cases, two or three will not keep the warmth in and cold out.
