Next year I will be moving to British Columbia to attend college. So I was wondering if my winchester model 70 in 7mm rem mag be enough gun for most of the animals available to hunt?(except for grizz and brown bears). Also on a side note, what type of predator hunting is available there, as I wouldn't think there would be as many coyotes as here in Alberta. Mors Certa Sed Hors Incerta

With the right bullet and good shot placement, your 7 MM RM will be perfect for BC. Though I have a good selection of calibres with which I hunt, the 7 MM was one of my first rifles and one of my favourites. I have dropped mule deer, black bear, elk and moose with my 7 MM. Though I did not use it on my last grizzly, with a good bullet I would not have felt terribly under gunned facing such a critter. It is certainly adequate for caribou, wolf and coyote. We have lynx and mountain lion in addition to wolf and coyote, so there is predator hunting to suit any taste. Where will you be attending college?

There is some excellent black bear hunting on the Island. Also, blacktail can provide a pretty good challenge. Of course, the Mainland is just a ferry ride away. Kelowna is near some excellent hunting areas. Good luck in establishing yourself here in BC.

I've killed or seen killed with the 7mm RM Coyote Wolf Cougar Black Bear Mule Deer Moose Grizzly bear ...It's about as "all around" as you can get. If you are after the grizzlies and big moose, elk, use a good bullet. 375 Ruger- The NEW KING of the .375's!!
