Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.

Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock cal. 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Liberal Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

Conservative's Answer:

Albertan's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?"

Son: "Can I shoot the next one!"

Wife: " You're not taking that to the Taxidermist!

I saw this O five yrs ago and the Albertan was back then a Georgian, as in Dixie, USA, and you know it works also for the streotype of this canadian province. LOL Heehaw!

What is true is that Georgian and Albertan conservative are more Right-wing than conservatives of the ordinary standard. And like Dixieland, Klineland is seperatist, also.

What is not similar is that Glocks round the corners of Alberta's square streets. At least it is hoped not, unlike Georgia and Florida where it is indeed a day to day occurance. Bang, Bang, Bang!

If this story was really about an Albertan he would have been carrying a .500 S&W, .480 Ruger,
.475 Linebaugh or .454 Casull and he wouldn't have needed or bothered to reload.

No self respecting Albertan would choose to be seen in public shooting a Glock.

Glocks are for girls!!!!......LOL, ROFL.

Well, I am sure I am an Albertan. The only thing I can think when I read this scenario is: Can I shoot him before my wife pulls out her gun and shoots him first?

Gotta love Alberta women too Wink

5 years ago when I moved from New Jersey to Texas, I heard it with Texan substitued for Albertan. (I spent 85 and 86 in Calgary - one of my favorite places).

If they are still moving, keep shooting. In this case, they are too ugly to hang on the wall, and I wouldn't want to eat the meat.

Liberals believe that criminals are just like them and guns cause crimes. Conservatives believe criminals are different and that it is the criminals that cause crimes. Maybe both are right and the solution is to keep guns away from liberals.

How about a nice cold dash of REALITY???

It is ILLEGAL for the Albertan to have any handgun in his possession outside the home, without a permit which is only legal for transport to a (government-approved) range, with the gun IN A LOCKED BOX, WITH a trigger lock installed, and ammo LOCKED in a separate container.

It is ILLEGAL for him to have that illegally-carried handgun in a loaded condition on the street.

It is ILLEGAL to have any weapon concealed.

It is ILLEGAL to have the handgun outside the home without a trigger lock.

It is ILLEGAL to fire the handgun on the street.

There are more, and I could go on, but y'all get the idea.

I lived in Alberta and other parts of Canada for over fifty years. Why do you think my current address reads, "Nevada"? NONE of the above 'anti-crime laws' are in effect here, and I have my concealed-carry permit to allow me to do all those things.

The principle of the joke is correct. It's sad that proper-thinking Canadians can't enjoy the benefits and fun of handgun ownership without all the hassles. In the terms of the joke, guess what.....in Canada, whatever your political stripe, you DIE!

Note that the current government has NO intention whatever of easing handgun restrictions. The long-gun registry might go away, but that's about it.
