| you have two different animals here the smith is alot different in the ergonomics then the kimber the kimber feels like a 1911 while s&w has a little longer trigger pull meaning you reach farther for trigger and feels alot different then the kimber now saying that i own the s&w 1006 and love the gun and will not get rid of it.i believe right now the only offering by s&w is there 610 revolver so as to your question kimber makes a 1911 style and s&w don't currently if you run across a 1006 or 1086 i wouldn't heitate to buy one just pick it up and feel it for yourself first before you purchase it's not for everyone

| Isn't the Dan Wesson a Charles Daly? In any case, I always thought that the S&W 1006 was the standard by which other 10mms were judged. You might want to consider the Witness 10mm Match (which I own) as another possibility. Kimbers are certainly a quality firearm, but I am not familiar with their 10mm offering. Peter.

| Thanks guys,
I appreciate the responses. The reason for the question is that I have seen both the guns in question pass through my local gun shop recently for roughly the same price, and was thinking of possibly getting one as a companion to my Glock 20. |

| If they are the same price, then no question, buy the Kimber! Peter.
