Picked up my sig 22 Mosquito yesterday, took 2 1/2 weeks for the permit to come in the mail. For those who don't know New York's system;every county is different,in mine you can only get a full carry permit;no training required;4-6 mos. later you are approved to buy 1 hand gun. Then you pick one out,go back to the sherrifs main HQ with a receipt, they the in turn have a judge sign a pick up slip, then you go back to pick up the weapon. This process takes 2-3weeks,if the only judge ain't on vacation.Makes buying one out of town almost impossible, since you would have to pay an FFL dealer and shipping!

But enough on that...

Well 600 rounds last night and this morning not one FTF FTE (wow, look at me sounding like a pistol guy).Using only the high velocity CCI recommended ammo.37 gr. hollow pts./40 gr jacketed.

Hitting soda cans @ 10 to 15 yards very regular,is this any good?Have not adjusted the sights, keeping the front centered in the back, then the front just covers the target I'm aiming at.Bought this to plink at squirrels and such.Think I could hit one now.

I've been shooting chipmunks with my 375 rifle, there,I have my target exposed just above the front bead(practicing for africa hunt),only problem,$3.50 a shot!(swift A-frames)but boy are they dead.

Grew concerned after "wink" said these guns fall apart, but can't seem to find much slop or play in any of the parts....

Only thing I need to get used to is such a heavy trigger pull(used to 1.5-2 pound rifles)

and if I wasn't in enough trouble...bought a SIG 239 9mm at lunch time...will have it in 3 weeks if the judge can see fit to sign my coupon. It's almost the same size as the 22,single stack 8 round clip.

I feel like a damn crack addict...

Any good 9mm practice ammo recommendations?

Dan, I really like shooting that pistol too. Sorry about my gloomy post, nobody expected anything but years of good service from a SIG pistol. Let's hope the two I mentioned in my previous post were from a bad lot and not typical of what are generally fine pistols.

I've always wanted a SIG 239 and you don't see them often in France.

The Sig Mosquito cycle Remington yellow jacket copper coated hollow point bulk ammo the best from my experience. I have one with 8,000+ rounds through. They hold up well and get more accurate with use (typical Sig).

Do not use any lead projectiles (non-coated), for example Remington Thunderbolts, they tend to leave a lot of lead residue in the barrel.

Good choice with the Sig's!

I've been carrying my Sig P239-SAS, now chambered in 357 Sig, for about four years. Damn good gun, but it got real expensive to shoot. That's why I too picked up a Sig Mosquito, and it has functioned flawlessly! Still shoot nothing but CCI Mini-Mags...Heck, if they work it's still a TON cheaper than 357 Sig ammo. Bulk ammo is cheaper yet, but I'm happy with the performance of the Mosquito with what I'm using...

Got Sig!

It is nice to live in Arizona. I can walk into the gun shop, say I want that one, Lay down my money, drivers lic, CCW, fill out the paperwork and walk out with my new gun.
The CCW covers the background check.
No Waiting. The libs call the waiting period a "cooling off" period, hell if I wantrd to shoot someone I could just go to my safe and get a gun.

Well it's been a couple of months;and the Mosquito is fantastic!

It's a squirrel killing machine, which is why I bought it.

239 is good too.

Just bought a used 44 mag for some deer.
