while cleaning out a closet I found a couple of boxes of .40 S&W 180 GR TMP ammo with the aluminum case. I bought about them about 10 years ago to practice with. I don't think they make the aluminum case anymore and I was wondering if they are safe. I shot several boxes of 9MM with the aluminum case back when they first came out. The guys at the range told me that some people were having trouble with the cases splitting but I never had that problem.

I belive cci still makes some of their blaser line with alum cases. I could be wrong haven't brought any in the last few years. I shot thousands of rounds of it in 9mm never had any trouble shoot it up and enjoy it.

I've shot a lot of the .45 ammo. No problems with the aluminum, shoot a mag and look at your shells for problems. CCI still make aluminum and has also produced a brass shell for Blazer. It fees lighter than my other brass but says reloadable on the box. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

My agency goes thru thousands of Blazer aluminum rounds every year in .40 S&W with almost zero problems. Some of the early stuff was prone to cracking, but even that didn't cause any real problems. IMHO go shootin'

Yes, CCI makes brass & aluminum cased Blazer ammo. The alum stuff shoots fine, but shouldn't be reloaded. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

I meant the new brass feels lighter than normal brass. I haven't weighed it just a perception. The aluminum is not reloadable and was berdan primed in the past to discourage the attempt. I have had no problems with either the brass or aluminum for shooting. I remebered while typing I still have two boxes of 9X18 Makarov in aluminum with Gold Dots that I forgot I had. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
