A buddy of mine at work just got himself an STI Trojan with a 6 inch barrel. When I talked to him yesterday he had not shot it yet. I thought it looked really nice, and felt pretty good in the hand. It is a single stack.

I was wondering if anyone here had opinions about STI's pistols.

Go Duke!!

IMHO, nice guns but overpriced. Still, the same is probably true of doubles rifles!

STI's are popular here for IPSC shooting. when they work they are very very accurate and very nice to shoot... however they are also the most ureliable gun I've ever seen!! anyone I've seen has had serious feed problems. over priced and over engineered IMO...

They seem to be THE gun for the unlimited plate shooters around here. They also seem to be a bit fussy as to feeding/function but the good shooters using them are amazingly fast.

I tried one yesterday at the range in 9mm.
It was very accurate and fed well with reloads.
The owner has had no feed problems. He said he cleans it a lot. He has shot about 3000 through it so far.

Regards,
Bob.

Their factory is about 20 miles from here.I have a friend that went down + picked one up. .38 super, titanium, long muzzle brake, red dot holographic sight, etc. It was a joy to shoot, have felt more recoil from a .22 + wherever that red dot was there was your POI.He could afford it though as he's a doctor.

Never mistake motion for action.

I have an STI Spartan in 9mm. Though I've not shot it a bunch yet, it has worked without problems. The frame and slide are made in the Philippines and then assembled and fitted in TX. Not bad for$650.
