Hello out there. My father-in-law was just given a Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. revolver. Neither of us have ever heard of this company before and are curious about this little piece. It is a break top, 5 shot, with a 3 7/8" bbl, chambered in .38short Colt. It is in about 85-90%.
Does anybody know of this type of gun or know where I could get some info on them?

For a start, Google 'Hopkins & Allen '. One of the entries is a NY Times article from 1900 when the factory burned down. That may have ended it for the company.They made various types of guns in New England .I think Allen was the family that was involved in various gun companies - Allen&Thurber etc.
