Like it says, for those shooting steel IHMSA style targets, where do you aim on a turkey shape and what is your reasoning? I am a firm believer in one setting and four loads, but turkeys defy that no end as well as break most people's days regardless of sighting strategy. I would love to hear any theories, rules of thumb or whatever. I assume from conversation and reading that the turkey curse seems to happen for all classes regardless of size/range, maybe not, discussion encouraged. And i am probably considered by most as a competent (as in safe and sane) shooter but admittedly average at best in skill, likely lower. Which is why I ask,.

Okay I'm doing it right then, must be the targets have been fitted with bullet deflecting force fields

Scoped I put the + where I want my POI. Iron sights I hold leg body junction, with my point of impact at center. Hold small miss small. I have tried using different loads years ago. All the same bullet, better hope you never drop your ammo boxes and spill them out. IHMSA is an accuracy game for sure. Work up one load, the very best you can get. It will have to shoot at the very least MOA at 100m to be competative. I change settings on everything period. If scope or sights won't repeat I won't own them. Some guys I shoot with use one load and change their POA. I tried that also. Without moving my sights, scoped or iron, I chased my tail for along time. Jeff

When I shot them I used a six o'clock hold sighted in to hit center mass. This way I did not cover any of the target with my front sight. I also adjusted my sights for each range. _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill
