I have been playing with a Spingfield Loaded model lately in 5". I have been having fun with the round and I am tempted to get a commander size 45. I know Springfield makes some variations in 3.5 and 3" models, but I have alos found the Dan Wesson CZ Commander Bobtail that looks interesting. They seem close in price to the Springfield. Anybody have the Dan Wesson? HOw do you like it?

Is a 3" 45 snappy on recoil?

In general the shorter you go below 4" the more likely it will be unreliable. Recoil on the shorter ones isn't any worse though the muzzle blast may be.

I have a Colt Off. Ndl. w/ the 3 1/4" bbl. It has been 100% relaible & is almost as accurate as my semi tuned Govt. mdl. Recoil is a bit snappy but managable. I dropped to a 185gr-200gr load for carry, higher vel. & a bit less recoil.
