I picked up one of these at an auction
Can anyone tell me what to expect from it...good or not so good(bad?)
Can it handle modern hotter loads?

Very keen to hear from those who know these revolvers
when I saw it I recognised Indiana Jones´s gun
right away.

Question:
can this chap manage modern loads?
how hot can it be handloaded?

It was made from 1897-1943 in 45 Colt , 44 Special, 44-40,357 and even some British cartridges .It's a strong gun and you can load it up but not to Ruger pressures !If it's in 45 Colt it's going to be .454" not .451"....It will be good for 255 gr @ 1000 fps .I wouldn't push it more than that.
