Steve LathamNew shooting organisation
A breakaway group from SAGBNI has been formed, with the aim of bringing back pistol ownership in U.K., Using human rights/Olympic guidances.Who thinks we stand a chance?

WinkWell, I wish you the best of luck. If someone in the UK thinks the United Nations is the source for "definitions" on just what Human Rights are then you will be shit out of luck on that score. I don't know just which calibers are Olympic handgun sports calibers, other than the .22 so it seems to me the basis for this new movement sets its own limits far too low, with no way to go beyond. You might do better using the "sporting" guidelines accepted in other European countries where IPSC, or a version thereof, is accepted. In France self-defence is not a justification for firearm ownership, only sporting use. The day Olympic guidelines are adopted here in France means the end of my handguns.

PeterSteve, you guys have an odd ball situation. You allow "moderators" which must be licensed in the USA, but getting above a 22 is a real pain from what I understand. When I lived there I had a 22 MU1 Vostock which was my target gun, but did get a license for a 357 Mag (which I never did get). I did belong to a gun club that had an indoor range, and also shot at Bisley.
Good luck! Living in the USA for a shooter is like dying and going to heaven!
Peter.
