I've heard these are good quality but never met someone who's owned or shot 'em. Can't find much info. here or even general searches, other than very accurate and "fast." Anyone know what they mean by "fast?" There's one locally for $850 so I don't know what to compare it to... or if it's worth it/resale, etc. Any general help would be appreciated. Thanks! -mark

Well, this has sat here for a while. I have no experience with the Walther 88, but, my $0.02 is that you can get a lot of gun for $850 eg. Kimbers, Sigs etc. etc. I guess a Google search should show up something. My impression is that they did not "take off". Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. when i was in college i had a to do list. in the middle was desert eagle / walther p88 full size. i got a job on a fishing boat one summer in alaska and bought the desert eagle after coming home. the one i remember might have even been a long slide. it was sweet, but memory twists things around in 15 years. the compact looks like a dog. i hate compact 9mms. that is what 45s are for. the 88 is supposed to be one heck of a shooter. i wish i had bought it instead of the desert eagle.

My brother has one it's a well made gun. while i like it cause it shoots like a demon, it's just to big & heavy for concealed carry.
