OK so I had to try it. I've been using the Delta top in 10mm on my POS Auto Ord 1911 for a while. I got a Match10mm (from Chuck) a while back. So no need for the Delta slide.... unless I can get a 40S&W barrel. Well I got a Kart Match barrel a few months ago. Fitted it up to the Delta slide and well... no good. The 40's just slam into the feed ramp. Turns out the Match10mm feed ramp is much different than the 45acp. So my next step is to try the Delta slide with the 40 bbl on the Match10mm.Maybe I won't do that. Rich

Richj, Try magazines blocked in back made to fit a .40 S&W rather than the 10mm. 9mm do the same thing in my 9x23 but not with 9x19 magazines. Best, jpj3.

Rich, a 40 most definately wont work with a 45 ramp. .45, 10/40 and 9/38 are specific dimensions. The 1911 feeds nosedown first in a bumpfeed manner, and the .45 ramp is too deep to allow 40 cartridges to nose back up. You are always free to call and Ill try and help you with a solution. JpJ, I suspect you have another issue with yours. 9mm should feed perfect in a 9x23 with non ramped barrels. If you have a ramped barrel, thats a whole different set of numbers. CW Chuck Warner Pistolsmith /

I use 40 S&W loaded almost to 10mm length in two 1911s. I built both with Nowlin ramped barrels. One of my double column frames has two top ends ... on in 45 ACP and the other in 40 S&W. Both top ends run fine on the frame ... but to swap tops one must also change the ejector! Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Years ago, I bought a Colt 10/40. You had to use specific magazines for the two. Never understood why... Rich
