Finaly after many years of wanting one I have a real Colt 1911. Sure it's a series 80 Stainless Steal, But it is a Colt 1911. Don't know why, but always wanted one that said COLT on it. Dang good shooter too. Next night sights!

I picked up my first 1911 (1970s Commander Lightweight).

Really wanted a Colt too. I'm very satisfied. I could have bought a used Kimber, but 1911s are Colts.

Now if I could only find an older SAA that wasn't obscenely priced...

SAA at a decent price? Good luck my friend! Been wanting one too. So far no luck unless it's a worn out POS. Someday I will have one, but fear I will pay more than I care to.

Sadly, by decent I mean less than $1200, which is a shame considering the amount out there.

I'd like to find a nice Triple Lock or a Pre-27 as a substitute, but the triple lock's are up and past the $1200 mark too....

Maybe a .38 Heavy Duty... I've always liked those.

Look for a nice early Mdl. 28. They are mechancially identical to a Mdl. 27 at half the cost or less.

I just scored a Model 1911 U.S. Army serial# 560,000
range.
Made in 1918

Tight as a ticks ass, excellent trigger.

I've NEVER seen one that old as pristine

I'm calling Colt Monday to see what documentation they have on the pistol.

I hope it's not stolen as it was a private sale.

I purchased a mil surplus 1911A1 Remington from the NRA in 1962 for $13.95 but I did a dumb one and traded it in on a S&W 38 special Chiefs Special, a friend allowed me $25 I thought that was great but not now.It came in an original remington box, extra clips & instructions.
