Just bought a used SBH SS 10.5" and notice what seems to be erosion on forcing cone. It's a ring around the cone with little tiny jagged edges. Can someone provide pictures of what erosion would look like so I can compare?

No Photo, sorry. The forcing cone will be more funnel shaped if you have erosion. Look at a new or little used gun and compare the metal differences on the barrels flat edge facing the cylinder. If you really have erosion, you will see it right away when comparing the guns. I saw a S&W M29 44 mag.that was really bad, but it still shot as good as a new one. What you could be seeing is charing from a heat build up from rapid firing on a very hot day.The metal changes form some how. The gun i saw that on was a 357 mag. and the barrel had a length ways crack running in the forcing cone area clear to the frame, almost an inch long.
