you guys over 40 or so know what i mean. well i think i have found a fair to meddling solution. The glasses with the gradient lenses - you know - the ones that go from clear on top to reading on the bottom. Well i had a pair that drove my eyes buggy, put if you look through them just right they work to go quickly between seeing the sights and the target.

I wear trifocals (lined). With the last eye test and prescription change I told the optician that I wanted to be able to focus on the front sight of a gun held at arms length (one hand). He accomodated me! Works fine so far! Still not 20 year old eyes ! Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. I'm closer to 60 than 40, but I find my progressive lenses to be a real pain in the ass for pistol shooting. They are what I use but I think the better solution (which I do not have) is to have a dominant eye lens which is has a see-thru point perfectly lined up and corrected for the front sight, with the rest of the lens and the non-dominant eye lens corrected for the target distance. I know somebody in the USA makes these, I just can't remember their name and web link. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I'm 56, and recently went with a red dot sight on my 629 Classic 6". In spite of the extra weight, my offhand groups went from 6 inches to under 3" at 25 yards. I now have a true 60 yard offhand deer slayer for Illinois whitetail season. Off a rest, I'm good out to 100 yards.
