I recently hog hunted with a 1911 for the first time. What a blast. I don't reload so can anyone recommend a good factory load for the .45 acp to use on Florida hogs. It seems most factory loads are more for anti-personal use rather that the thick skin hogs. Would like all your feed back.... My mean critter handgun is a Springfield Armory TRP .45 Auto. I would not hesitate taking it into griz country. The .45 Auto loaded with .230 grains bullets is a very power cartridge.

While prior to its acceptance, in 1910 it was tested on cattle in the Chicago stockyards with good results. Never mistake motion for action.

Yes indeed! I still have a box of 230 G. Black Talons that I keep in my truck carry 1911. They are hard to find anymore but these days most ammo is. Never mistake motion for action.
