I had a GP-141 for several years before it was stole last year. I replaced it with the 161 in December. I've only had it out to the range a few times. It's as well made as the older models. I like the new style grip, I was undecided for a while. The longer barrel aims and balances a little better but isn't as compact for travel or carry. I can't give a comparison of velocities on the two inch barrel difference. All in all either one is a winner, but I would like a 141 again for a house gun.

I love mine in stainless. It is very accurate and easy to manage, even for a guy with small hands like mine. Obviously not a concealed weapon, but great for what it does.

Same thing for all Roogers: If this GP100 had a longer barrel, it would make a great tomato stake!

So you all suggest the 141 (the 4in barrel model)?

The Gp 100 as with all ruger hand guns are some of the toughest and best buys the market I've been shooting ruger handguns for over 39 years.

Depending one what one is using it for the 6in well be a bit easier to shoot the 4 inch easier to carry.

I'm not sugesting the 141 over the 161. I like them both. Unlike onefunzr2 I think the Ruger is a fine firearm. So far mine have been well made and reliable (5 so far). I miss the 4 inch barrel but have no regets buying the 6 inch. I had the 4 inch for 9 years, the 6 inch about 5 months.

This would not be carried, so I think I will probably go with the 161.

Thanks!,

Been shooting the blue four inch since the year they came out. Shot Expert with it at Gunsite 350 back in the day. I have no complaints.
