I currently own a Colt model 357 that has been in my safe since the 1970's with the original box of Clean bore ammo that my father purchased with the revolver. Not much information out there as to the value of this firearm. Will post pics as soon as my daughter returns from college. Any guesses as to value?

Fairly rare gun by Colt standards, with probably about 15000 total produced.

I would be STRICTLY GUESSING but in excellent condition, I think it would be worth at least $900-$1000, but I stress this is a guess.

If you have the box, it would add a couple hundred or so to it IMO.

The ammo has no real value.

There is an excellent one on Gunbroker now with 11 days left and it is up to nearly $700 now.

You have a very nice revolver. The series started with the Trooper, then the .357, and finally the Trooper .357.
A few years ago, they went for $500-$600. Now, they are trending near the $900 mark for a "nice" one. Today, yours, with the condition you describe and with the box, should go for around $1000 to $1100 on gunbroker.com.
The ones I have owned have all shot very well. When I retired my Pythons due to the geometric increases in value they were going through, I bought a near new Trooper .357 from 1967.
With 140 grain Remington bullets and a modest, below minimum charge of H110, a friend and I were able to hit a basketball sized rock more times than not at a measured 236 yards.

Gunbroker example, which I would call very good, close to excellent condition sold naked for $1145.

I guess they took another price increase. At this rate, pretty soon, I will have to retire my Trooper .357. Maybe buy a S&W so I don't have to worry about appreciation.
