Nothing wrong with a 686.

Especially one of the old 6 shot ones!

Hi John.

I have shot one of the first year ones without the wierd S&W key lock system. The gun has a 4-inch barrel and is about the most consistently accurate and easiest handling revolver I have shot. The trigger feel is solid and smooth without feeling heavy. The gun points well and is a reasonable weight. The only possible negative for me was that cylinder to frame distance with the cylinder open is a little tighter than I would like when loading from speed loaders. It would take some getting used to is all.

Bottom line is if I were looking for a quality .357 revolver, and could find one in good shape I would buy it.
