so yesterday was a day off & i got a chance to do a bit of shooting. I ran a couple hunderd rounds through the taurus 845. the gun has a 12 shot mag and comes with a loader. at least for the first dozen or so mags the loader was great. the springs needed a bit of warming up to be easily loadable by fingers. the trigger was the typical long pull of the plastic guns. it also had a bit of a hitch in it just before releasing. I think the hitch will work out in a few more rounds. i ran 230 gr RN 200 cast semi WC and 185 HPs thru it. Mixed them up in the mags etc. and never had one malfunction. The grips is comfortable though a bit large due to the staggered mag. the sights are drift adjustable for windage but not for elevation. The double strike feature i had to try out so i loaded up a couple rounds that i didn't seat the primer all the way. First hit wouldn't set them off but just pulling the rather heavy double action trigger did the trick both times. nice feature if you get into unfriendly territory. As i get older the one thing i miss the most is having young eyes. Either the sights without glasses or the target is a mess with them. All in all however i managed to keep most shots in about a 6" group in rapid double tap fire and in about a 3" group in slow fire, all at 50 yds. overall impression is that this is one in a long line of polymer pistols similar to the XD. I think i prefer my xd to this, but at 500 it is certainly an affordable hi cap 45.
next was the little 238 sig. This little 380 i hadn't really shot much yet. It is almost the identical size to the keltec. except the thing is built like a modified 1911. No grip safety, but very positive safety and a decent set of 3 dot sights that you can actually see. The trigger is crisp and about perfect for a small CCW gun. Functioning was just about perfect, except for 2 rounds that didn't feed on the first round in. Accuracy at 10 yds with my bad eyes and the short sight radius was rally quite good. about a 7" group in rapid fire and 3" in slow. As a super small CCW gun I Have to rate it above even my seecamp due to the 1911 design and its ability to function through a variety of ammo without a hitch. While its twice the price of the keltec or ruger, i'd gladly pay it again. its 5 times the gun

A 3" group at 50 yards is pretty darn good!!!!! A 12 round 45 has got to be quite a handful, literally! Thanks for posting.
