I just fell in love with a Browning (Made in Belgium, assembled in Portugal) Hi Power in 40 S&W. I've owned several 40's, but I've not heard much on how it handles in the Hi Power. Does anyone have any experience with the Hi Power in 40 S&W?

I understand Cylinder & Slide are really good at slicking up a Browning:

The HP 40 is beefed up considerably when compared to the standard HP to handle the additional pressure of the 40 S&W cartridge. This does adversely affect the handling and "feel" to an extent. I also find the recoil, particularly with 180gr loads, to be quite "snappy" compared to other pistols chambered in 40 S&W. Nonetheless, it retains the positive design aspects of the HP. A bit of trigger work is usually required as per butchloc's posting, as on any HP.
