Is there anything between a Colt and Ruger. -Colt: Is well made, cyl line up with the loading gate when it's opened, large lever on plunger. Trigger sucks, no sights. -Ruger Adj Sights, nicer trigger, points a bit better. Free spinning cyl, PITA to un/load.

Colt is making the New Frontier again. Adjustable sights, and a square frame similar to the Ruger. The trigger pull on my old SAA is a smooth single stage 3lb pull.

Price. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

I own a Nickle SAA in 44/40. Was thinking of a Bisley SS Ruger 45LC/ACP 5 1/2" if I can find one. My buddy has his eye on the Colt. I don't like the toothpick trigger.

I too was puzzled by the OP. I thought at first he meant quality wise, but perhaps he meant cost wise? There was also no mention of caliber or potential use. Certainly there are plenty of alternatives to Colt and Ruger. Taurus, Dan Wesson, Korth etc. Or did he mean single action only? Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Rich, Ruger SA's made after 2005 or so have a modification that aligns the chambers for loading perfectly. The Bisley models are very fine hunting and target guns, but they are heavy. While this does not deter me, some like them lighter. The standard new model grip frames are a little longer and have a little more room between the grip and the back of the trigger guard than a colt. If you would prefer the standard grip and would like a little lighter weight, I would go with a standard stainless model. Power custom makes a stainless Bisley spur hammer that is compatible with standard grip frames. Matt Matt FISH!! Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984: "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."
