I bought a new HIVIZ front sight for my 500. I guess the factory one took a trip under recoil. Well got the new sight home and don't know how to put it in. Does the bresk come off? If so how? Just thought I would ask before I do something stupid. Can somebody explain the procedure...? Thanks Maddog Joshua 24:15 www.teamfaithfull.net / My granddaughter "Multitudes loose the sight of that which is, by setting their eyes on that which is not".

On my 1st gen 500, the front sight is held in place by a spring loaded plunger in the sight base. To install a sight blade, insert the rear of the blade's dovetail into the slot, push it all the way to the rear, compressing the plunger, and the front of the dovetail should drop into the slot and latch under the forward pin. Sounds complicated but is pretty easy. John

Glad it worked out. It's a pretty neat system once you see how it works. Did the entire blade fly off, or just the Hiviz part? John
