I work with a guy who is looking to sell one of these Mod 41s for a good price and I imagine I'll take it. Problem is I've never handled one "in the flesh" so don't really know what model variations are out there for the 41. Does anyone have one they could post some pics of so I can get some ideas on what to do to it as far as grips and sights ect. I have a thing for adding my own touch to my guns and like to change things to suit me. --------------------------------- It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

Oops! my bad, It was a 422 not a 41. I'm still going to get it because he wants penies for it. Any info or pics? --------------------------------- It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

I've not seen a lot of extras for the 41 but never really looked. I have heard of people relining the barrel for added accuracy but mine's a tack driver as is, with a great trigger. Mine came originally with the 5" heavy barrel and target sights, but I sent it to the factory a couple of years back and had them fit a second 7" barrel to the frame. The newer barrel also came drilled and tapped for scopes, so I put my 45mm Tasco ProPoint 5 Red Dot on top of it. I don't know if the guy showed you, but by pulling down on the trigger guard, you can take the gun apart for cleaning in about 5 seconds or less. Which means changing barrels is as easy and fast. When the 17Mach2 rimfire round came out I thought that S&W might offer a conversion kit. But I've not seen conversion kits even for other easy to change 22LRs like the Beretta NEOS. At the gun shows around here, used 41s go for $700 and up. I'm so happy with mine that I can't imagine selling it.

many moons ago when i could still see my pistol sights I almost made it into the olympics with a mod 41 EFS. One option available (if you really talk nice to him) is jim kobe used to make a new barrel for them that really shot well
