All I can find for my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 colt is winchester 230 grain lead round nose. It's made for CAS competitors, and does pack a good whollop, but I want something more, something copper plated and wad- cutting... Any ideas? Arctic Gun

Don't know of any commercial loader who would load a plated cast bullet, you may have to search for a custom loader for such. Why is a plated lead bullet necessary? For a bit more oomph if you're not reloading, then there are smaller commercial ammo companies out there. Buffalo Bore, Cor-Bon to name a couple. Unless you want to shoot CAS loads, the 45colt is really a handloaders cartridge. Corbon & BuffaloBore & DoubleTap make barn burners, but they are full magnum vel. There are LWC bullets available as well as a myriad of jacketed. For me, a good lead bullet is all you need for target or hunting. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

I shoot a Colt Anaconda 45LC with a 4" barrel...the model Colt never made according to them. The Laser-Cast 300gr TC bullet at 1100fps...works for me. Rich DRSS

Look at Buffalo Bore, but be wary of the 325's (recoil is fierce). Their 300's have done a fine job for me. "When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all." Theodore Roosevelt
