This setup is amazing (friends) I installed a competition hammer/sear/trigger (dropin). He did a Comp bushing on the Delta top.

I blew the center of the target out with this setup.
Montana gold 180, Power Pistol loads.

Don't spend big bux on mags. CDNN convex follower mags at $10 ea are great.

What was your Power Pistol load? I load 200's in mine (an EAA Elite match). Always looking for accuracy loads at the upper levels.

The comp gun load was Power Pistol 9gr which is not hot.

My 180 gr load in the 1911 is 9.5gr Blue Dot, accurate even with the cheap Berry bullets.

Some years ago I built a 1911 compgun in 40 S&W. 40 S&W with its small primer has more material in the web than does 10mm brass. Being shorter, it is easier to get out of the chamber and the upper during ejection. The pistol is built like a bank vault ... Nowlin ramped barrel, Delta Elite slide with a 1/2" milled off rather than milling slots in it to get the cycle time down. Using 10mm magazines I load almost to the length of 10 mm allowing lots of room for propellant.

With 135 gr Nosler HPs (I use WSF with light bullets) it is easy to get to 1350+ fps ... and at those speeds the gas column is nice and dense allowing the comp to work REALLY well.

Is darned near as well behaved as a Super. Have used it to hunt deer and it delivers DRT performance!

Have not thought of using such a light bullet in a 40. What is the accuracy like?

Accuracy is superb ... but it is a very good pistol w a superb 2# trigger.

The 1350+ fps is a moderate load in my pistol. I am hesitant to put the max velocity I achieved for fear that someone will try to match it with a pistol not so well built. It is WAY higher than that!
