Juan, When loading competition ammo for IPSC I run EVERY round through a chamber gauge to make sure it is perfect. You might polish the barrel of the ramp just a touch. Broke several extractors on CZs and a firing pin or two over the years. Not much else ever gave me any problems. (Used the CZ in 9x19, 9x21, and 40 S&W ... never in Super or 45 ACP.) Juan, do you mean MATT Burkett perhaps? I have his book. What "extractor problems" did you have? I have Witnesses in 38 Super and 45ACP and have never had a problem with a failure to extract. Now I may not have pushed them as hard as you did, maybe 100 rounds at a time. Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. In general the first thing you do to a standard model witness is take a file to the extractor so you don't send the brass 30-40 feet away. Working slowly a little at a time you'll reach a point where it ejects cleanly and nicely, and that is where you stop. all of mine were improved for both ejecting and for feeding by doing that, as well as disassembling the mag and cleaning up the flashing on the mag follower so the spring works. Occasionally you'll get a mag and follower combo that are tight and a combo that is loose, swap them if this happens. The only other thing I found was that you don't want to overspring them. 12# or maybe 14# is plenty for just about any caliber and bullet weight. Too heavy and you can crack the frame. Just the opposite from a 1911. I don't know about the combat or force or other higher end models, but these are some things you might look at. | |||

Scott I shoot max loads in my EAA 9x21, 38 Super and 10 mm. I have changed the springs to 20 (9x21 and 10mm) and 16 pounds for the 38 Super. No problems yet. These were recommend by Henning. Peter.
