Have opportunity to purchase subject revolver and it is in what I would call approx. 90+%.
Has some blue wear at muzzle, grips are as new, action very smooth, but wondering if I were to send back to Colt, can they refinish, do overall inspection, repair if needed, etc.?? Any feedback appreciated.

thanks,

martin

Unless it loose no need to send it back if you are going to use it it well look the same after a being in a holster for a bit.

Buy it and use it as is.

There are several places that can put a finish that looks like brushed stainless steel. Sorry I can't remember the name, but I had it done to my 4" Python! It came out very well. There was a place in Florida that did mine. I will post when I remember the name of the finish and the company. You might be able to do a search for it. I will post a picture if I get the chance. My 4" Python is one gun I will never sell!

Pythons are a great gun, and, deserve to be refinished. Blue is controled rust, so, have the gun refinished so it doesn't rust so bad you have to replace the barrel...

Does the mussle look like mine? That's not too bad.

I rarely use mine. And I agree with all previous posts. If you're gonna use it, you'll be back in same situation in due time. They are awesome and beautiful and I'll never sell.

Besides, holster wear impacts resale value much less than a reblue. To protect your investment, use it as is.

I reminded a former GS of the pythons tendency to shoot out of time,he told me they gave him nightmares trying to get them back in time,my GS didn't like them either and advised me to buy S&W Revolvers so I followed his advice!

Ah, you have one too? I had one made up on an old M19 about two years before the M686 came out. Great gun.

I don't find the Python goes out of time quicker then a S&W (the opposite in fact), but finding someone who knows how to retime them properly is increasingly difficult, whereas a great many people can work on the relatively simpler S&W. FWIW - dan
