Taurus Snub Nose 856
I just picked up a like new Taurus 856 38 Spl from a young man that decided to sell because he wanted a 357. Was asking $315, but took $280.
Seems to be a solid little 6 shot revolver. Thinking of loading it with snake shot for deer season. Probably more effective than the Ruger Single-Six.

Sounds like fun. Wondering how shot will pattern (size/distance)from a snub nose?

Hopefully I’ll make it to the range this coming weekend. Ordered three boxes of CCI #9 snake shot. They have them on sale for less than $10 a pack.

Mike, I enjoyed playing with the Taurus snubbie in .327 Magnum.
I wish CCI loaded their shells with the No. 12 they use in the .22 shells instead of No. 9 shot. I have always had DRT results with the smaller shot on rattlesnakes, and had to shoot them again with the No. 9.

Bill, I noticed CCI also loads a heavier #4 shot cartridge. Never tried it, but it looks like it may be good for limited range on birds or other small game.
