If anybody is looking for a good deal on a Blaser double rifle in 470, check out Hendershot's Sporting Goods. They have a mint condition 470 for sale for $7K.

I can personally vouch for Hendershots, especially Lance Hendershot - straight shooter, stand-up guy and someone who I have bought numerous guns off of.

This is just amazing. Aleko has a 375H&H double for sale at a pretty reasonable price as well. What's the deal here? Economy or just lack of interest in doubles?

Lack of inerest in BLASER doubles,is more accurate, I think!

horse I stand corrected MacD, however, I would certainly like to own a Blaser double (for the right price)!!!!! I don't really need a 470 as I have a 450 x 3 1/4, but a 375H&H might be nice!

Peter I know you are "aware of it", consider Alekos 375 H&H Blaser S-2.

It is a good shooter.

Peter and N E 450 No2:

For a guy wanting an entry level double, that standard grade .375 Aleko has would be a good one. EuroOptics has a really nice Luxus grade S2 in .500/.416. They are asking $8,500 but I am betting if you pulled out some cash you could buy it a little better. The reason I like the Blaser in .500/.416 is that it is made with the same barrel contour as the S2 double rifle. The .470 and .500 are built with a larger barrel contour. The .500/.416 would be just about the right weight. Jamison is now making .500/.416 brass. Buy yourself about 200 rounds and you would be set. I just can't seem to find any load data for the .500/.416 though.

Dave I have a K-gun in 500/416. I have some data developed by myself, plus you should be able to get some from Kreighoff.

Peter, How do you like your .500/.416? I know it is not super popular, especially now that everyone seems to be chambering the 450/400, but I think it just makes so much sense and it is perfect for the S2. What is your favorite powder? Would you mind sending me a PM with you load data or the load date that you got from Krieghoff? I am building a .450 Dakota right now but I am pretty sure my next gun will be an S2. I am torn between the Luxus double in 9.3X74 or going on up to a .500/.416. The 9.3 is less expensive, lighter, and components are so much easier to find. It would be a perfect compliment to my R93 9.3X62. On the other hand, the .500/.416 would be the perfect compliment to my .416 Rigby. Decisions, decisions... Smiler

Anyway, I would love to take a look at you load data if you would care to share it with me.
