It is a Chapuis Safari Express in 470. It has been shot a total of two rounds and looks brand new. The former owner is supposed to bring me the 18 remaining rounds from the box of shells he bought. I can't wait to shoot it.

Congrats!

It's an addiction, so prepare to get bit by the bug to "buy another one."

I just added a third one to my safe!

I've had the bug for awhile. I just haven't had to chance to buy one at the right price. I shot a water buffalo in 1998 with a borrowed double and have wanted one ever since.

I bought a Chapuis 470 last year. I'll be in Reno in a few days looking for a buffalo hunt to break it in.

Instead of a deal, look for a great hunt. Learn how to be proficient with the double. Lots of shooting, reloading rifle and shooting again.

Hi Tim:

My Chapuis Brousse .470 was regulated with Federal Woodleigh Weldcore Soft points .

You should get one or two targets from the factory with the rifle.

How about some pics?

Regards Jim P.

Very nice BECAUSE one trigger is not MISSING! Big Grin

Tim B, don't pay any attention to WILL, he's an engineer, and we all know what happens when an engineer designs a product! When it hits the retail market a person with a sixth grade education, who has to use it, has to redesign it so it works properly ! Big Grin

Nice rifle Tim, and as others have already told you, double rifles are one of the things you can't have only one of. So put the "DRSS" (Double Rifle Shooters Society) in your tag line, and join the rest of us addicts.

I finally got to shoot my 470 yesterday. Nothing formal just shot some cow pies and dirt clods. I can see how a guy could get hooked on these things. My wife even shot it. I went looking for a hog to shoot but had no luck. I'm going to try again next weekend.
